Team Associated Teases New Laydown Transmission (Stealth)

Post by SFC K »

Anyone else see this? Question is who is going to try an adapt this to an RC10?

I really hope they leave it in the clear case as well. 8)

I don't really get the "stealth is back" part as they have always referred to the stealth onwards as a stealth transmission.

It does resemble the same geometry as a GT transmission, just with extra bits to mount shock towers etc.

that's just the SLA model in clear plastic, it won't be clear. it would be neat, but what is shown is a printed prototype.

as some mentioned on FB, it's really similar to the rc10GT trans.

agreed on the 'stealth is back' part.

I wonder how much better this would really be rather than taking a B44.3 and stripping out the front drive system.

I run at SRS, and saw someone with a laydown gearbox in their B5M a few days ago. I wonder if it's a pro driver with a prototype tranny? I didn't think much of it at the time, other than thinking,. "boy, that guy really has limited his battery space options". SRS is an extremely high-bite clay track, where traction rolling is very common, so it'd be the right place to test lowering your CG.

There has been a 3D printed version available for a while. I forgot who makes it though.
