New(ish) build losi xx runner.
So someone was looking for some Losi porn if I do recall recently. and got a chance to take some pictures today so I thought I would share.
This will be my runner and I put all the goodies I like and could afford
Still a few things to do.
Rick sent me a trans brace (in mail)
My hobby shop is moving so need to go buy steering servo and install.
and than its setup time. I think the 4800kv will be a bit much but I can turn it down.
I NEED A SECOND LOSI DECAL ON THE SIDE> ANYONE HELP??

I think I will use a strap on the front. I had to demel out the rear to fit hardcase lipos, so the rear is secure enough not to be strapped. Unless someone had a blue trinity one they wanted to part with
what do ya know...post this thread ...walk out to mail box and boom, box from Rick (you rock). So I guess Im down to servo. havent researched yet but I want something FAST within my budget.
This was by far one of my favorite projects to date. I have a ton of parts to choose from. and know these cars well enough to research upgrade parts...I love my threaded shock bodys with Ti-hard shafts buttery smooth

Also wanted to add..the wing wires for these cars can be hard to find and often show up missing. I bought some 1/16" 316-ss TIG filler wire from local welding shop and they make great wing wires. made a basic jig and made 3 in about 15 mins.

Nice looking XX - love that purple colour on the shell - what is it?
As MadRacer says, its good to see some more Losi XX runners out there - they really are a supurb buggy, my love affair with this chassis has been re-kindled since i've started running one as my main off road racer... just wish more of our tracks weren't such high grip so as to give the rear motored cars more of a chance!
Out of interest, what length are your threaded shocks on the front? - I think I offered up the threaded ones from my XXX on my DoubleX & found the fronts were longer, wishing not to restrict the upward movement of the front suspension I decided to stick with the original non-threaded shocks.

The front shock bodys are A-5054 .6" same as original. maybe you have the A-5055 bodys at .9" ??

Losi porn gets me off!! PMSL!
Yet another great XX example, and its a runner! The threaded shocks look ace - in fact the whole car does (even though I am biased!). Well executed build, enjoy driving it.
Quite liking the 5 spokes on there too, I might have to dig mine out
I keep thinking about doing a runner, but I reallly must not, my XX series collection is getting out of hand as it is
Dan, odd that your shocks didnt seem to fit - I am sure the XXX used the same size as the XX - .6 at the front and 1.2 at the rear - .9's are used on the trucks.

Re: New(ish) build losi xx runner.
I have accuired a metric s*it load of xx tires. even enough that I ran discs on my xxx-BK1 on indoor carpet, car looked sick all painted up with matching discs. but them more I ran the more the disc covers broke. Had a few old boys talk to me about it at the race and they too found the discs fragile with hard running back in the day. so I plan on driving the arse off htis thing so opted for the solid 5 stars.

I would like to thank you most sincerely...it has really brightened my day I wish I had tuned in early morning with my coffee...morning XX !!! what more could a guy ask for...altho afternoon XX is suiting me just fine.
Phocking gorgeous man...i love that bod I want it on my project but they're like 35 bucks on evilbay.....
There's nothing like Losi 5 stars !! their like the cragar's of real cars. I even like the stock JR's. But these i think are my fav...their 2.2 tho right? Im going to have to eventually cop a set.
Leave it without the sticker on that side.....or get a half a sticker that reads losi and then attach a star sticker next to it.
Your gonna have to name her after that tho.....go old school....LoosyLosi del rio....
Glad to be back in this hobby so many many years later. To see new things and to recollect on ALL cool vintage models!
