Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Runner build
Hey all. I have 3 XXT CR Graphite Plus trucks as shelfers. All 3 are immaculate and do a great job holding down my shelf. I have amassed a bunch of parts, and recently bought a used Graphite XL chassis. I decided to start a build for a XXT CR Graphite runner using modern electronics.
The Graphite XL chassis was real rough, and had gouges. I sanded and polished it to help bring it back to life a little. It actually cleaned up better than I expected. Fortunately I have all the parts to make this a true Graphite runner. I am slowly cleaning up all the parts, and finding several small pieces I need to complete. I am trying to complete the build by buying as few parts as possible. So far I have only needed a differential tube.
More progress pictures and info to come as the build progresses. Any suggestions for runner reliability are suggested. I likely won't run it much, or very hard. I have never actually run a XX/XXT so I am looking forward to it.

Transmission progress. I spent some time polishing the outdrives, and am happy with how they look. The diff feels ultra smooth, but once I assembled the transmission, the gears are binding a little. I still need to figure out why.

Looking good. I always enjoy seeing "new" XX era vehicles.

Those outdrives now have the look of Titanium!

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Runner Build
That was my goal. I have a set of Baracuda Titanium outdrives on one of my XXT shelfers. They are beautuful, and was trying to get close to that look. They ended up pretty close. Thanks.
Here is a quick progress picture. This truck is turning out to be much prettier than I had expected, so I decided to throw my FANTOM brace on the front for some strength and bling.

This might end up being too nice to be a runner!

I love anything that is XX/T and never seem to get bored of seeing rebuilds and restorations.
Coming along nicely!

I too love the XX/T. I can never get enough pictures or build threads of it. I wish this place wasn't such a ghost town lately. Shame.

Progress. Still working on some details, and about ready to install the rest of the electronics. I am excited to finally drive a XX-T.

Yes, it is a CR Graphite Plus. Only thing missing is the graphite front shock tower, but that will be swapped out at some point.snowfox wrote: ↑Sat Feb 18, 2017 7:55 pm Definitely a XXT CR +G

Thanks for the setup sheet. I have mine setup very very close to that currently. I am so excited to drive it. I am so curious to see how it runs. Like I said before, it turned out a little too nice, so I don't want to beat it. However, now I almost have enough surplus parts to build another runner, which will be pretty rough. I would feel better about driving that one hard. Do any of you guys have a hard time driving your nice cars/trucks? Even my new stuff doesn't get driven much. I guess I really enjoy the building, modifying, and displaying much more than actually driving. I know, weird.
The wiring and soldering has begun...

Yes. I feel like I could write a book on how many times I've built or bought something and then decided it was too new, or too rare or too something to run it. I hate when that happens because then I have to buy another one. Even then sometimes the cycle repeats.

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Runner Build
I bought a XX off of eBay just over a year or so ago with a view to running it but as it turned out, it was in much better condition than it appeared in the photo's, so after a brief clean up here and there I decided that it was too good to run! Oh well....matt1ptkn wrote: ↑Mon Feb 20, 2017 9:58 amYes. I'm in this very situation with a very nice XXT sport right now.

Re: Losi XXT CR Graphite Plus - Runner Build
Glad to hear I am not the only one, lol.
Got it running, but I am unhappy with the electronics. I will be replacing the esc, battery, and maybe motor.
I am having a real issue with differential. I can't get it to tighten enough not to slip. I keep tightening it, but it continues to slip. I have taken it apart several times to make sure everything is setup right. Does anyone have much experience with these, who can maybe shed some light on what I may be doing wrong? I would appreciate any help. Thanks.
