As the title implies I need some help figuring out my gearing. I will most likely be running a 2500-3500mah lipo, and a modern modest brushless/esc combo (probably a ez-run 13.5T). I will also upgrade the Trans to a RPM 2.65 Trans with a B4 Slipper....

I am working toward getting off the boost (lol, that sounds funny)...

The series I start in late march is a no boost class. I am going to start (17.5) @ 25~27/72 in the buggy. Soon as I pick up a 72, I will start...

Well I'm trying to do a build with nothing but new parts and so far the only part I can't find is # 6226 Front inner hing pins. Are there any other pins out there (associated or not) that are the same?

saw the top shaft for RC10, i inspected the Hydra drive kit last night and saw that there were missing screws, will try to look for one in Ebay. I believe there was a rebuild kit for Hydra drive before, is it still available...

Yes, they use standard old school pan car style gears like Kimbrough.

Quick question..

If I understand it correctly to run the VTS slipper on the GT electric conversion I'd need to replace the top shaft with the B4 part right?

What about the spur gear?

I got it all set up this weekend with a 87t spur and 19t pinion..
It runs great with the brushed stock motor.

HI!... In one of my recently obtained part lots I got NIP RPM trans cases. So I figured I'd build it with all the parts I got. So I installed a freshly rebuilt diff and Robinson Racing steel idler gear. Now I know this trans is designed for a 2.65...

I seem to have a leftover RPM topshaft..will it work in a standard 2.25????? :shock: :?

Just a couple thoughts on the topic...

I believe that as a pair of gears rotate, their teeth fall into and out of engagement one tooth at a time.
So, adding teeth to a gear doesn't necessarily result in a stronger gear.
Gears break because...
