"Back-IN-Black" RC10 #2
My 2nd build, nothing really set in stone. The direction of the project will be determined when the chassis I bought shows up.
Team Buggy? Worlds Buggy? In any event, here's where I'm at:.

Re: "Back-IN-Black" RC10 #2
I haven't received the chassis yet, but I think it's a team car from the photos.
I bought lots of other cool stuff for this car so I'm really stoked...
-nice gold anno hardware
-Stealth transmission with full ball bearings & black motor plate
-Novak AM 75 Receiver (Polaris model)
I still need...
-viper body
-1 piece white wheels/tires
-Motor
Possibly a better Novak ESC
I should have most of the items later in the week

Re: "Back-IN-Black" RC10 #2
I have the chassis in my hands now, it's a B stamp. I cleaned it up and it looks pretty good - minimal scratches etc. Can anyone tell what ballpark year it was manufactured? I'm just trying to find out if it's a T chassis knock-off or an actual "team car" chassis? Nose and chassis does seem to sport the original black anno. Please heeeelp!

Like the ano'd slipper plates!
It's hit or miss with responses sometimes. Don't let that discourage you. I'm on here a couple times a day almost daily, but may only post once or twice. The RC10 buggy forum has seemed a little slow to me (not a lot of action) the last couple weeks to me also....

Re: "Back-IN-Black" RC10 #2
Thanks for input guys!
If all the T's were c-stamped, this might be an actual team car. The team car came out 1990ish just BEFORE the T's came out so that would make logical sense. I figured it was just a T chassis with a buggy front piece and in that thinking I could use all the extra dyed parts since it wasn't original to begin with. However, if it IS a team car it kind of changes my build plans as I would rather restore it to what it was and should be.
Any thoughts/suggestions?

Re: "Back-IN-Black" RC10 #2
everything that had a stealth trans was a B stamp, as well as the real late 6 gear c.e. C stamps started with the worlds car.

6035 and 6036 Team cars were released in 1991, as was the 7001 RC10T- the early B stamps are identified by offset inline battery holes-teman wrote:Thanks for input guys!

Re: "Back-IN-Black" RC10 #2
Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you mean about the holes, but I guess you're saying it's not a T chassis?
Well in any event, I think I'm going to build a team car with white parts. The shopping list will be a little longer, but I'm game I'm going to get started tonight, the black parts will used in the near future for my sons "build a model" Cub Scout project. haha

Re: "Back-IN-Black" RC10 #2
he's talking about how on A stamp and early B stamp tubs, the 2 holes for mounting the battery box were offset to the right. yours are inline, so it's not an early tub.teman wrote:Thanks for the reply. I'm not sure what you mean about the holes, but I guess you're saying it's not a T chassis?
it doesn't matter if that tub started life as a truck, because it's the exact same one they used on the buggies.

Re: "Back-IN-Black" RC10 #2
OK, gotcha I'm glad I grabbed it, but unfortunately I see the rest of the team car being auctioned off - IE the alternating colors of mounts and hubs with RPM arms etc
I did manage to get most of the car swapped, popped in new bearings for the rear hubs, bought the Viper body, wing mounts/wire and a decent set of wheels/tires for it. More photos later in the week when I have it rolling.
Thanks for everyones help, much appreciated.

Re: "Back-IN-Black" RC10 #2
Well a lot was changed since I last posted, mainly due to not liking the black parts on the black chassis so the gold pan donated white parts to speed up the build of this car. The black parts went on the gold pan which will complement what I plan to do with that one soon (I'll update that thread today also).
I sourced the front shock tower and the missing transmission slipper parts, only a few missing items now - gear cover, the correct shocks, 1 piece wheels, universal CVDs and the wing that goes along with the viper body - If I overlooked something, please let me know. I put the Novak 410 in this car and the T4 in the gold pan. I'm still waiting on the Novak receiver. I think I'm making good progress, but there's still much to do. Photos

My NIP universals arrived so I'm quite pleased that I can cross that off the list. I'm doing my best holding off 1st run time untill I make another skidplate Still more to come I'm almost finished, well kind of lol
