Re: Wheels for Traxxas TRX-1
hmm...not sure. Maybe the early ones were three piece? your tires look different than the ones I had. Do they say Traxxas on the sidewall? But the wheels on mine, front and rear, are definitely 3 piece.
I'll def snap some pics and post them up. very interesting.....

Re: Wheels for Traxxas TRX-1
out of 12 bullets all but one of mine came with 3 piece rims. The one that didn't had one piece rims which I think I read somewhere a long time ago on the traxxas forums that they were putting the one piece in with the very last models that went out the door. Not confirmed by any means since I can't find the thread about it there anymore but thats just what I remember...

Re: Wheels for Traxxas TRX-1
wow....12 bullets! thats a whole clip! hahahah.....
I have to say, other than the transmission being weak, I definitely liked the car alot when I had it. the front suspension still lives on in a traxxas/losi hybrid I have. Oh, the lexan was pretty crappy too, wasn't too happy with that.

Yep,
Was on a bullet 'kick' awhile back. Got several new ones after spending way too much trying to build them. The lexan was way too thin for my liking also. Only have 2 NOS bodies but they ripped the rear mount hole on both of them when they fell off the shelf onto the bed...about a foot and a half fall

All the satin ones I have seen and own are three piece. Traxxas offers similar "painted" ones that are one piece nylon.
I am not here cause I am playing photographer and on my mountain bike.

Re: Wheels for Traxxas TRX-1
Find a set of the Losi front axles and use the Losi wheels and standard bearings. I believe the axles will work with the TRX1. Mark311 would be the authority on that.cyberded wrote:your right about the losi wheel they do look right.the problem is that the front bearing are not 5x11mm there 5/16x3/8 and the rear are for 3/16 shaft not 5mm.
they could be fit thought if you drill the rear to 5mm and if you swap out the front axle for losi jrx2's
Re: Wheels for Traxxas TRX-1
yep, Losi axles for the Pro-SE are a direct fit into the TRX1 spindles. Associated axles are just a hair too small.
Brandon I have a bag of white parts for your TRX1, I forgot to bring them Friday.

Re: Wheels for Traxxas TRX-1
Mark, I found a set of the OE spindles cheap, so I will not need those.
I will have a box of Losi stuff for you Friday if you are going to thunder...
(yes, Losi)

Re: Wheels for Traxxas TRX-1
Guys,
Thanks to the generousity of Jay Dub (Jeff) in donating a set of mint rear TRX-1 wheels and tyres (plus a set or original front tyres on HPI tims) and my luck in sourcing a new set of 6 spoke TRX-1 front rims, my car will now be shod correctly on all fours!
Thanks to everyone for their suggestions and info.
Once I get the beast all together and painted then I'll be sure to post some pics.
Cheers,
Steve

I've recently managed to get hold of a NIB, partially assembled TRX-1. It is complete except for the wheels and tyres.
Does anyone know of an available wheel/tyre combo that closely resembles the original spoked TRX-1 wheel?
Thanks in advance,
Steve
