Traxxas TRX-3 Opinion?
Hi all, I have a chance of a Traxxas TRX-3 as above at a reasonable price, are they worth picking up?
Thanks Tim

I'd take it. Those are full option buggies and I think they are pretty rare. Go for it.

Re: Traxxas TRX-3 Opinion?
Mate, I owned one and with a hydra drive on there isnt much out there that can keep with it, that is if you set it up correctly and adjust your driving style for the hydra drive. When Team Traxxas gave me the oportunity to own one, the first race was on a dusty dry dirt track and I have to admit and most people will say the same that raced against me, I was not good on dirt if the track was bone dry. The car was dialled and awsesome and I made the B main (I missed one qualifier by mistake - my own stupid fault) but the time I put in the final was quicker than the Team Traxxas driver when he won the A main. Enough said really.gr8 car

Although I have never drive one, I think everyone should own one. They are a nice piece and one of the two competitive pieces of Traxxas' history:

Re: Traxxas TRX-3 Opinion?
I love the TRX-3, it looks so different from its competitors of the time, as opposed to the TRX-1 that shared some overall similarities with the RC10 Team Care
What happened to the TRX-2, by the way???

Jay,
I just love that second car (the built one). Wow! What I'd give for a new built TRX3 in my collection!

Re: Traxxas TRX-3 Opinion?
I forgot, Stuart wood won an incredible National A final with the TRX3 against the likes of Craig drescher, Kevin Moore, Ben Sturnham, Billy Mitchum, Jamie Booth, Ellis Stafford and the list goes on. He drove it like it was on rails. The car before was a TRX1 and that was my favourite car, I still use the shocks as they still havent been bettered by anyone. The only thing I wasnt a fan of was the big bore shocks on the TRX3 but that was a small gripe as they performed exactly the same and were dead smooth. You have got a stunning car, but keep an eye out for the hydra drive as it makes the car perfect for clay tracks, makes the car superb, but on grip tracks you wont need it.

Re: Traxxas TRX-3 Opinion?
Well he made this thing look stunning. He just drove the car around, considering he wasnt the quickest in the final but he drove superbly, its up there with the final that Jon Tucker won with his RC10B2, the first national win with that car apparantly and what a race. Stu set it up on that rutty track well and the rest were well behind.
