B4 Wheels?
B4 Wheels?
So I've been trying to figure out a way to use B4 wheels on the old RC-10. After reading a bunch of posts here, it seems like there is no easy way to do the rears. I don't really want to buy old used (or new for that matter) B2/B3 wheels, as they are basically obsolete. I'd like to use the latest and greatest, so replacements are easy to come by.
The front wheels don't seem to be an issue - #1 the axles would be really easy to make on a lathe, and 2) I think someone mentioned that T3 or T4 axles will work with the wider offset of the modern wheels.
The rears are another story... I could fabricate custom axles, using the 1/4" stock bearings and new 3/16" wheel mount design. Is there a simpler, off-the-shelf-solution to using B4 rear wheels?
Thanks,
Dave

Re: B4 Wheels?
Yeah if you don't mind using non standard arms then the dynotech arms are the way to go. But I don't think there's any off the shelf parts that will let you run B4 rims with stock arms.
I had mine using standard arms and truck hub carriers with custom axles that were about 8mm longer with spacer to get the wheel to sit out.
Another way would be to make some hub carriers which put the bearings out to where they would be on a B4 then you could use B4 axles and driveshafts.

Thanks guys. I think for now, I will just fab some custom axles. When I get a few bucks, i'll look into the Klein arms (do they come in black?) and some B44 CVDs.

No black. They can be dyed though.dvalleli wrote:Thanks guys. I think for now, I will just fab some custom axles. When I get a few bucks, i'll look into the Klein arms (do they come in black?) and some B44 CVDs.
