TOO MUCH WING? OR NOT ENOUGH CAR?!
So,I got my vintage Bud's wing mounted on my JRX2...It's a whopper of a wing-I need some feedback.
Is it too much wing for the car? Should I trim it down, maybe at the rear of the side panels?
Please let me know what ya think...Maybe not enough car?!

Aaaah, but it's always better when you buy a wing that has it's origonal, faded header card and never been opened,,faded bag!
That's cool that BRP are still in biz.
Yeah, they are used more on road...I just dig 'em and my JRX2 is a shelfer,so no worries there.

Stick a body on the car and then see how you like it. I had one of these on my RC10 in '87 and it looked killer to me.

If you leave it clear, it will probably look ok...but if you paint it, it will stand out too much.

Doesn't look like the wing wire I sent you. I don't think it could have gotten to the South Pacific yet.

it's hard to tell, is that the double decker wing? If so, I got one with a car back in the day, I put it on my RC10, the upper panel was painted dark blue. everything else stayed clear. looked pretty cool.

Yep-it's the wing wire you sent! I just tweaked it some
And yes again,it's the Bud's Bi-Level Super wing...I like it.Makes a change from the Losi V wings I'm always using

Re: TOO MUCH WING? OR NOT ENOUGH CAR?!
i used to run that wing on my pancars bitd. looks quite out of place on an offroad car. just my $.02.
bud's used to have a nice offroad wing. not sure if they still make it, though.

Re: TOO MUCH WING? OR NOT ENOUGH CAR?!
That was the wing Bud Bartos came out with for pancar paved oval racing, it was the only way we could keep the rear ends of the cars planted running highspeed ovals (Whipowill).FasterLouder wrote:So,I got my vintage Bud's wing mounted on my JRX2...It's a whopper of a wing-I need some feedback.

Though it was "tried" for other things, on-road and off-road, it proved all but useless for anything other than just paved oval.
