Re: Wing or No Wing?
I think without the wing they capture the "Baja" look. Maybe the box art with wing and the other two without? They do look good without the wing though.
Hope you're doin' something fun.

Re: Wing or No Wing?
I hated wings as a kid even chopped the wing mounts off my Hot Shot , now I like them except on frame body cars.
If a jobs not worth doing then its certainly not worth doing well.

Re: Wing or No Wing?
I like the looks of wings, but taking the wing off is a nice occasional change of pace.
For use, I view the wing as a 'track only' item. For basher fun, it gets destroyed too easily.

Re: Wing or No Wing?
I'll have the wings please.
I even think the Optima looks better with a wing.
I was introduced to RC buggies when I started off-road racing so that's probably why I prefer them with wings.

Re: Wing or No Wing?
Unfortunately...no.
I ordered a "1985 IFMAR" wing decal from MCI, then realized it was too wide, so I thought about just leaving the wing off. I kinda think the Protech looks better without a wing.

Re: Wing or No Wing?
If i am honest, I really REALLY dislike the rear part of the RC10 bodyshells - the bit that extends over the rear of the shock tower and over the motor. I have always thought this raised the shells up way too high and made the car look a bit top-heavy (I usually like top-heavy!!
) I have left this bit of the shell on my Concept Car mainly because the mag car had it, but on all of my other RC10 builds i cut it off and hunker the shell down. It is one of the reasons I totally prefer the Penn Jackal RC10 shell as it is much lower and more streamline and doesn't even have a rearward section.
With a wing atop the standard uncut body i think they look a bit much. Just my opinion of course. I also like to build wings with my own pointy side plate shape, the same as I always ran bitd, and therefore wings are a bit of a must for my builds really, so for me it is a trimmed and lowered shell, plus wing all day long.

Re: Wing or No Wing?
The wing is a chance for extra bling. Have a few with complementary and contrasting colors to the main shell.

Makes sense. I may look at trimming the "engine cover" off and running a wing. Going for a paint job like this, which may be to your taste?

Re: Wing or No Wing?
I totally agree. And I always appreciate a wing that's painted with a complimentary color scheme to the body, not just left clear with some stickers on it.
