Rebuilding Shocks
I did a search on this and nothing good popped up so if this has been covered in the past I apologize.... I am looking to rebuild the shocks on my RC10. Is there any type of a kit out there to help with this, or directions? I don't want to screw anything up. Is it as simple as just taking them a part, cleaning them up and adding oil?

I have seen shock rebuld kits show up on ebay from time to time. I think there are some on there now make sure to check the ebay stores as well.
As far as rebuilding there is not much to it, I usaly do one at a time and lay out the seals and washers in the same order I took them apart. It very important to clean the ouside very well before disasembly Brake parts cleaner work very well for this as it dries quick with no residue. I like to use a little shock oil on all of the o-rings before I install them. When you put the oil in them only fill about 3/4 of the way and work the piston up and down slowly to wok out the air bubbles. Top off the oil and you will be ready to inslall the cap. After the cap is installed you should be able to depress the shock and the piston should go all the way in and return to the full out postion (or close to it ) on its own. If you can not depress the shock all the way in then there is too much oil in it, if it dose not return to full retract then you need to add a little oil. This can be a little tricky to get perfect as I had a drop of oil or two make the difference.

I always replace the o-rings when rebuilding shocks. You can get a pack of 100 from McMaster-Carr:

Depends on the shocks condition, they may just need a clean - but then it is best as said above to at least replace the o-rings, you can get away with polishing the shock shafts as long as they are not bent. If they are the hard anodized shocks (dark grey/green)............tower stock a kit:

There should be manuals available, possibly in the scans archive or on the web for your RC10 - check how the shocks are put together so it will be easier for you to take apart.
