RPM 2.65 stealth conversion on buggy?

Post by AYKBOBCAT »

I got one of those with a set of parts... It's supposed to be made for the RC10T but whay not on a buggy?

What's the effect? Much punch but less top end speed?

On a buggy, they just took different gearing to get right for the tire size. They were popular on dirt ovals for short tracks, though.

yup, more or less. you can use it in a buggy, just use a smaller spur gear.

Put it in whatever rc10 you want, truck or buggy, followed by a 9 turn motor with ease :D . Good for short tracks like apexspeed said. The high speed dirt oval guys had the RPM 1.9 ratio stealth trans with the dark grey case too. Definitely harder to find now.

Yeah, essentially, the tall drive ratio was to counteract the truck tires and get the same gear ratio as a buggy. The result, if geared the way it is supposed to be geared, is no different that a 2.0 gearbox.

The DO guys liked it because you could run really hot motors on short tracks and not worry about problematic gearing.
