Best LiPo Battery Fit in RC10 Classic bulkhead
Best LiPo Battery Fit in RC10 Classic bulkhead
What 7.4V 2s battery is everyone running with a brushless/lipo setup that fit in a standard RC10 classic rear bulkhead?
Are people just running shorty packs with foam spacer?
I am struggling finding a pack that meets the standard dimensions. I typically use SMC on my SC trucks and I love them, but they only have a shorty pack option now...
Ideally I would want an inboard set-up...but any guidance would be helpful. I have both a RC10 oval setup and a vintage offroad racing set-up.

This isn't the best picture, but what I did was turn the battery cup around and secure it with Parma tape. The battery in the picture is a Reedy 65c/4100 mah. If you're looking for a killer shorty, check out the Orion Carbon 100c/4500 mah. They're about $60.

Re: Best LiPo Battery Fit in RC10 Classic bulkhead
I run the battery cup right against the servo mount, which is a few mm further forward than the mounting holes for it. It is mounted with double sided tape, and gives you enough length to run a full stick pack if you choose to. If you want to run a shorty, just put foam spacers where you need them, to position the shorty where you want it. So this gives you maximum flexibility for battery choice and placement.

I also run a shorty in my gold pan, but run the one linked below in my worlds rere... which should fit the same as the classic. They fit the bulkhead and battery cup perfectly and have plenty of punch for a 50C (as much as my other "90C" packs).
