help with transmission differences...

I've had my RC10CE with Stealth since the early '90s and am looking to build one up for my 5 year old. I'm trying to figure out the difference between Stealth, 6-gear, and 3-gear transmissions on listings.

I'd appreciate a quick primer or direction to the thread that already discusses it. Thanks for any help!

welcome to the board (first post)
the 6 gear was the early tranny it did the job, but took alot of work to run real good
the stealth (3 gear) was the later tranny reliable and efficient
