YOKOMO 834 Dogfighter project
Its a little hard not to be inspired by many of the other brilliant 834 Dog Fighter projects out there so i have finaly gotten a start on what will hopefully be a nice 834.
This is what I have so far, still a long way to go but it s a start. If you are reading this and want to sell/trade some parts that I need then please let me know.
Thanks guys-

Re: YOKOMO 834 Dogfighter project
If only I could understand the language- I dont even have a manual so dont know where to start.
Re: YOKOMO 834 Dogfighter project
Jason, for the language issue...install the google toolbar. It has a feature that automatically translates each page you visit into your desired language. Very helpful. For the manual - I found an electronic version of the YZ-834B RPS if that would help at all. PM me if you want it. Good luck with your build!

Re: YOKOMO 834 Dogfighter project
Ive been assembling what I can and even without any instructions or experience with this car it goes together easily enough. As it turns out Im short a plastic front hub, front driveshafts, shocks, rear arms, rear brace, internal gears, battery mount and steering gear. Most of which is being sent from Hyeong who has offered to help me out.
I have some 2.0 rims and rubber but will still need one or two of mr lexan's bodies to get this thing almost complete.
Pics to be added tomorrow.

Many thanks Robert.
What abut this alloy motor plate which I keep reading about bending? Should i just fabricate one from fibreglass sheet or something?

Re: YOKOMO 834 Dogfighter project
I've never had a problem with my stock motor mount, but then again, I don't race and pretty much just baby my RPS SE around the back yard .
Pargu2000 sells a stronger one: http://cgi.ebay.com/Yokomo-RPS-SE-YZ-834B-alloy-motor-mount-red-colors-/140358612413?cmd=ViewItem&pt=Radio_Control_Vehicles&hash=item20ae0675bd

Robert

Re: YOKOMO 834 Dogfighter project
Thankyou Hyeong, its nice to have friends that are willing to help out some one with the passion enough to build one of these cars.
This is one of those cars Ive been wanting for ages and will be a very welcome addition to my collection.

Re: YOKOMO 834 Dogfighter project
what wheels and tires do you consider?
you'll need deep offset rear wheels like ZC-835 2.2" or ZC-825 2.15" ROAR wheels if you want to use modern tires. I got a few sets from a memeber here. and I think he has more
but 870C rear wheels with TR-8 tires or stock yellow wheels with RPS tires look better in the shelf

Re: YOKOMO 834 Dogfighter project
Thankyou for the advice Hyeong. I had considered running 2.0" pink rims all round. I have some nip fronts but no rears.
Care to PM me with the right person to ask for the extra help?

Re: YOKOMO 834 Dogfighter project
tamiya wide stud tires fit 870C front wheels. that setup worked to me. I'll post a picture laterbormac wrote:Thankyou for the advice Hyeong. I had considered running 2.0" pink rims all round. I have some nip fronts but no rears.
