Reccos to finish this build...MIP Trailing Arms w SP-1 trans
Here is a project that I am in the middle of...
I am not sure who made this chassis but I preferred it to cutting a tub...
nice wheels and knockoffs, pretty clean parts all over...
The Trailing Arm mechanics are very cool, though the directions are not perfect for the build.
Has a NIP SP-1 transmission with slipper shaft (I used a stock solid shaft). The transmission went together pretty well, I used the supplied MIP diff grease as instructed but it seemed a little goopy....loosened up after a lil time
So now, I'm looking for recco's on a neat front end that would work well with this build...
Not sure I will have the parts recommended but I enjoy the hunt!
Feedback welcome!! Thanks

why do you have 3 screws all on one side of the spur? usually those screws are put in different patterns to keep the spur from wobbling.
PS: going from the picture showing the black-white-black sandwhiched layers I think it's composite craft chassis.

i'd go with andy's white front arms, along with the standard rc10 white suspension pieces. an original 2 hole fiberglass shock tower would look good on it, too. mike's idea of an mip steering bellcrank would fit the build well, just make sure it's the old style.
cool build so far.

nice lookin start of a cool lookin project but on a SIDE note....GREAT lookin slot car track What kind would you happen to have there just out of curiosity? Looks hand routered anyway. Got one of mine sitting out in the garage on its side and the other one under all the shipping boxes I should be filling to get rid of stuff .

Re: Reccos to finish this build, Progress and what body????
MikeDealer, I had a set of alloy cranks that I used which offset the trailing arm blocks nicely....I would be interested in the MIP set up if you have a spare to trade or sell--not sure of the difference between old version and new version though. For the shock tower, I used a Parma Graphite piece...I am also on the lookout for an MIP fr shock tower now too...
Mr Ed, I fixed the screws on the gear---overlooked that, rushing...
Scr8p: had a set of the Andys fronts and some Tecna ti rods so there we go, lookin for better white ball cups and .......suggestions for a body on this rig????
Todd, thanks for the props on the slot car track, thats a hand routed 4 lane HO track I've had for about 5 years now...One of my other interests are the brass chassis HO slot cars from the early 70's... visit my website http://www.riggenho.com

Ron,
Sorry for off topic but great site. I've also got that HO slot car bug bite but mine revolves around Aurora. Got hundreds of them and have only had a few Riggens in my time which got ebayed off years ago before I realized what I had . If you believe it I started with R/C because I was spending too much money on slot cars ....now how's that workin out for me?...not so good .
Back on topic. You've got a great project goin there. Since I seen the first trailing arm RC10 on this site I've been wanting to find one myself. As for what body I would use...just an opinion but since I got my Mirage repop from Erik here on this site its become one of my all time favorite buggy bodies that are obtainable. Keep us updated.
