Losi JRX2 Motor Plate Question
Does any know the history of the different Losi or JRX2 (JRXT) silver motor plates? What I mean is, I have what appears to be one of each motor plate with a different stamping on the back side. One is blank, one has the JRX-2 logo, and one says Team Losi Performance. I am interested to know which was installed in which model or if it even matters at all.
Thanks!
Jay

motor plate
I'd be interested in this too. I had a blank one on my JRX Pro SE. I can't help with other info though sorry.

I have 1 with the engraved JRx2 logo.
Taking a few wild guesses:
- I'd say the engraving's the original design.
- Pro got a new logo to differentiate it visually.
- Junior got none to cut down the cost: it's engraved not pressed or milled. Engraving's a time consuming post-production process.
- Pro 2 came after Junior Series (not too sure on this), and the cost saving was kept as the engraving didn't help performance in any way
Really just hitting for the pinniata, can anybody ask Gil Losi Jr?

I never saw a blank one either, I am pretty sure the very first motor plate was the Jrx2 plate, the Team Performance one for the Pro, next kits and spare parts?

I would love to phone the Losi family, actually had plans to do so, just have not made the time. Anyone has their contact info, and I don't mean from http://www.teamlosi.com. I imagine if you call corporate and ask, they will likely laugh at you. Anyone tried?

and just to add to this, on my first one, the motor plate was light silver. on the one i got from ebay, it's gray, towards the charcoal or graphite side.scr8p wrote:the first junior- t i bought in 91 said jr-2. the second one i got off ebay recently says team losi.
now, i got my first one right when they came out. there is differences between that one, and my new one. first, the motor plate is different. second, the trans in my original had bearings. the new one has bushings. also, the rear tires were different. and, the shock bodies on my original were light silver, where the new ones seem to have a blueish tint to them. everything else is the same between the two. i'd be willing to bet my new one was from more towards the end of production. but, i don't remember exactly how long they made them. i know they were still out when the lxt and pro were.

I've been curious about this too and did a little research. If you put faith in the images on the boxes, it seems that the order is:
First = Blank (very early production, note very early rear shock towers did not have holes)
Second = "Jrx-2"
Third = "Team Losi Performance"
Jrx-2 box image is blank with decal
Jrx-t has "Jrx-2"
Jrx-Pro has "Jrx-2"
Jr-T has "Jrx-2"
Jrx-Pro SE has "Team Losi Performance" Box pic didn't come out
Pic of all 3 used. Note blank and "Jrx-2" are clear anodized while "Team Losi Performance" has a blue/grey tint to anodizing as mentioned earlier.

Great post sixdub. Thanks for the info. Box art is my game.sixdub wrote:I've been curious about this too and did a little research. If you put faith in the images on the boxes, it seems that the order is:

I must have an early production verison, as mine has no holes on the rear tower. Any chance you can email me high res photos of all the bodies on the boxes for the Pro, Junior 2, and Pro SE.... all angles, no flash discoloration. I have been looking for detailed photos of the colors to do box arts repo paint schemes.
Thank you sir!
