Well there's your problem

Post by Steve71 »

People are bugging me today, so decided to pull one of my 1/10 MT's off the shelf and do a little work on it today to relax. Last time I ran it it was making a bit of an odd sound from the rear axle. It's a Clod axle truck with metal spur gear and HD shafts and all so was wondering what the noise might be and was hoping it was not an actual major internal gear problem. Didn't take long to find out what it was.

I think at this point it's more of a throwing star than a gear

Tamiya alloy pinion?

They're known to do that.

I honestly can't recall what brand it was. I picked up a pair of them for this truck (dual motors) when I built it about 3-4 yrs ago and memory isn't as good as it used to be.
