wiring brushed motor

Post by Biz73 »

I just got a cheap Surpass 17t motor & 60a esc combo for my Ultima. The motor wires are not attached and I want to make sure I set them up so the blue wire on the motor connects to the blue wire on the esc. I know where to connect them, just not sure which side gets which color.

Do I connect the blue wire to the spring side or the heat sink side? I know I can just switch wires if it runs in reverse, but I'd like the colors to match up.

Thanks for your help

blue would be negative and yellow is positive. Doesn’t matter which side of the endbell you go to- can be offset or both at the top or bottom.

Thanks. I didn't notice the + sign on the plastic part of the end bell. I was looking at the copper sides for some kind of markings

Use the tabs on the end to solder too. They give you plenty of surface to connect too.

They are also handy for capacitors.
Always looking for new and interesting ways to waste money.

If I had just seen the + on the end I would have been good. After I saw it I felt like an idiot for coming on here and asking  Now to get it wired up and installed. I've had this Ultima for months and it hasn't had a first run.
