Tough steering servo?
Tough steering servo?
The losi 22t 2.0 is so advanced that it doesnt have any type of servo saver and i have gone through all my old plastic gear spares. Can you guys recommend a tough metal gear servo? I dont necessarily need a powerful servo, just a tough one. I had a metal gear 9k servo from redcat that seemed like it would work, but i traded it away. Im trying to stay under 50$

I race my B5M with a Turnigy servo. I know JK racing uses one in his cars, usually under $40, sometimes decent under $30.

10kg should be about 352 OZ

I race with this one in my T5M been flawless, very quick, very happy. (can find them used for a little better, I am the 3rd owner at least on mine.

I can attest to savox toughness. Run one in my colossus monster truck and it's a powerhouse. With an amain discount was under 70$

For a cheap metal gear servo, I've always had good luck with Hitec. I actually use the Hitec HS-645MG in a couple XXX-Ts with the servo saver locked out. Tower has a descent selection of metal gear Hitecs in the price range you are looking.

The JR Z590 isn't a bad servo, only $39.99 and 85oz. @ 6v.

Re: Tough steering servo?
My brother has a 22 2.0 buggy with a Savox SC-1251MG servo, and he's blown 2 sets of gears in it, yet I've had one in my RB5 for 3+ years without any problems. Still, the Savox's are great servo's. Personally, I've had really good luck with the Solar D770 servo's from Hobbypartz.com Have 5 of these in various buggies (B3,B4,RB5,B-Max2 & a Cougar SV) and haven't had any problems at all. And for under $20 each they are unbeatable.

I also recommend the Hitec 645MG series. The 5645MG is good too, I think the 5 denotes digital. The 645 is affordable too at around $35.
The Savos 1257TG is good too, and has titanium gears. These are about twice the price of the Hitec.
The Associated "metal gear" servos have a plastic big gear, so they really aren't metal gear servos.
