Rc10t3 Steering Servo?
Rc10t3 Steering Servo?
Hey guys I'm just getting back to Rc's after probably 20+ years. I picked up an old RC10T3 that I'm trying to bring back to life. I'm pretty close I think but when I turn on the controller the truck turns the front wheels all the way to one side and makes a loud sound. Any suggestions as to how to cure this? I've read about "resetting the servo" but not sure what all that entails. Thanks in advance for your advice.

take your servo horn off your steering servo and turn all power on to the truck. Set your centers on your steering of the radio and shut it all off. Re-install your servo horn as close to center as you can to make the wheels steer straight and you should be good to go. As long as your turnbuckles are all where you wanted them from before you should be able to get 'straight' with your settings on your radio from here.

Re: Rc10t3 Steering Servo?
I actually got that part fixed but now I have a new problem. I only have about half as much steering travel in one direction as I do in the other, and even the one that has more doesn't seem to go very far. I also managed to kill my motor after only running it for about 15 min but that's another story all together. Robbed the motor off of the XTM Baja Bullet that I got with it and got it back going!

any binding of the steering anywhere? Check for that and make sure your endpoints on the radio are still good and from there rob the steering servo outta that XTM if nothing else works

Re: Rc10t3 Steering Servo?
Yea that's the next plan! I already had to steal the motor and the radio receiver from the XTM . When I originally bought it the guy thought he had 2 RC10T3's but actually only one of the RC10's. I got both trucks, chargers, the full suspension for another T3,and some other misc parts for $50 so I think I did okay! Also picked up an RC18T. Just trying to get something my son can get started with before I move him on to something faster. Thanks for the help and advice.
