Bearing work-around for mixed size: 5mm ID X 3/8" OD
I am trying to use a Tamiya 5mm axle and wheel set up with a Team Associated (RC10) 3/8" rear wheel bearing carrier.
The Tamiya axle diam is 5mm, but the hub uses two 3/8" flanged bearings (1 inside and 1 outside)
Reason is to wanting to use SRB stock rears on an RC10 style tub.
I contacted Avid about this size, they said they don't have one..and wouldn't be able to sell enough to justify production...
Thanks in advance!

your best bet if you are using the rc10 rear hub carrier is to ream it out to 10mm, and use 5x10mm bearings. Come to think of it, the new re-re carriers are supposedly too loose of a fit for the 3/8" bearings, you might be able to just force a 10mm bearing in there.
masami did something like this when building a yokomo, used an RC10 rear hub carrier with the yokomo 5mm axles.

could look into using the B5 rear hubs since they are 5mm? might have to ream the hinge pin hole ut to 1/8

b5 is pretty different, in offset, as well as I think the CVD cup is housed in the inner bearing. probably more trouble than it's worth.

CRP makes Tamiya to RC10 rear wheel adapters...do they not work for you?
If not then jwscab's answer, or go the other way and shim the 5mm axle up to 1/4" with some metal tubing or a flat strip bent around the axle.

CRP adapters i think were for fox wheels on a rc10, or blackfoot on rc10. let me know, i have all sorts of crp wheel adapters.

thanks for the responses...I'll look into the adapters but would prefer a bearing for now, I'll try the ream to 10mm
