Big bore shocks on a WOIN racer setup
I just scored a set of B5 big bores on eBay. I notice on the modern cars they mount behind the front shock tower. Is this necessary on the WOIN setup with extended nose? Is there a performance gain or geometry gain from this? I have seen guys having to shim the rear tower out to avoid the socks being at an angle so I should be good there. I'm just curious about the fronts.
Re: Big bore shocks on a WOIN racer setup
From what I have read the biggest reason for having the shocks mounted behind the front shock tower is to bring the weight lower for a better center of gravity.

What Janaya said.
I'm too am currently waiting for big bores to arrive for my car and wondering about shock set up too. How much shimming does the rear tower need?
