So on my runner I decided to put on old school vintage JG big wide front bumber...covers the tires a little bit. Well i guess maybe it wedged during a crashed and stripped the bolts right out of the bulk head...im considering putting bolts and using nuts. Has anyone done that with bad results? im wondering if in turn it would maybe break the chassis which I dont want to do.
My tranny (or motor) seems to have some clicking it seems more prominent when the battery is dieing down although that is likely a coincidence for when I noticed it. Anyway last week or so I thought I heard the clicking to ...so it prompted me to tear down the tranny...but I found nothing wrong. All was intact. I dont know how to describe it just seems to click as the wheels turn then more so as you speed...until you speed up so fast you cant really hear it over the motor. Maybe its a ball bearring? I went through all of them and even cleaned and relubed them all last week.

Running JG big frnt bumper and clicking noise from tranny.
Glad to be back in this hobby so many many years later. To see new things and to recollect on ALL cool vintage models!

The clicking sound could be in your driveshafts as well. You might have the pins in the driveshafts(or axle) hitting things when the suspension is under different loads.

I had the exact issue of clicking at slower speeds and this was the issue.mytimac wrote:The clicking sound could be in your driveshafts as well. You might have the pins in the driveshafts(or axle) hitting things when the suspension is under different loads.
The pins connecting the universals to the rear axles was protruding out one side more than the other.
Check the pins in the universal sliding shafts at both ends.

Yup...I had the same issue with a slightly different twist...ride height in the back was too high, but at slow speeds it would make the pins hit and make a clicking noise.
Set your car on a stand and gently hit the throttle while moving your rear h-arms up and down one at a time...makes it super easy to pinpoint where the problem is.
