YZ10, full rebuild!
Re: YZ10, full rebuild!
Mark, cheers bud, but why not mount your cap via some wire as i have, allows you to move it a little.
As for the sticker, hmm, i know yours is the first gen of Cyclone with the yellow label, the inroad Cyclone was badged as TC due to a smoother profile.........so I'm not sure where mine fits in the family, any Novak gurus in the house?

Re: YZ10, full rebuild!
I suppose I could do that Lee but it's all stuck down now and servo tape is a precious commodity here I'll use your method when the car needs doing up again though.
Would be interesting to find out about these different labelled Cyclones.

Re: YZ10, full rebuild!
OK, thanks to CAT3k (Paul) on here i got hooked up with some retro foam rubber. Decided to get a set trued up on the YZ today, these are in fact a set of Parma trued greens, i just had to cut and chamfer the inside sidewalls, mind you, cutting the rear lip off the rims, and sanding off the ribs, even in a drill press, was a chore.
All done now though, bonded with EVO stik, but, i do have to make a TINY trim to the internal ribs on these ARC wheels, they just catch the edge of the suspension arms, so i kiss with the dremel will sort that in the AM.
A new (racing) body shell, build some NIMH packs, and, i think i can go run this at an indoor meet soon.

Nice to see you've finally got some foams sorted. Look very smart indeed.

Re: YZ10, full rebuild!
Bought a sheet of 3mm Kydex the other week, really wanted to try make a better bumper, so i just did a trial run with a wooden jig for the bend, and this stuff cuts easily with a razor saw. I bent it in the jig with a hobby heat gun, and its works spot on.
This is the rough draft here, but my word its solved the problem of ever finding a Yokomo NIP one....but to be honest, its a really quick easy task.
