My Shapeways parts for YZ10 Rebuild

Post by aesalazar »

Hi guys. Hope this is ok but I thought I would share some of the stuff I created on for my YZ10 rebuild:

https://www.shapeways.com/shops/ernies

Various plastic parts I drafted that might be useful to others. Like if you want to run NiMH batteries that tend to be slightly bigger then NiCD, I have battery posts for them without having to drill new holes in the chassie. Also have the front, center, and rear bulkhead withOUT hood-pin posts since I never used them because the Velcro was always more then enough.

The thing that might be most interesting are the wheels. I recreated the OEM rims but I find it next to impossible to find replacement off-road tires that would fit. So I drafted a version based on the OEM but fit the modern 2.2" tires. Attached is a photo with Pro-Line Resistor F/R.

Hopefully, it will help others...

@mikea96 Thanks, I saw those. I wanted something close to the look of the originals so I figured I would try to recreate, cant quite tell from JC's pics how close they are. Also, I wanted to dress them up a bit with the "Yokomo" engraving (not in the pic above but on Shapeways)...

Yeah the jc wheels are a little different than the originals as they have a small lip around the outside edge. Your wheels look great!
