Mid-Motor Stealth transmission

I have been coming up with some ideas for a dirt oval project and was wondering about mid-motor conversions for a gold pan. Does the slipper shaft have to come out the other side of the case so it runs the right way? I have been looking for examples but am having trouble on the details, 'WTF buggy' thread shows the motor plate flipped. Would it bet better to get a gt tranny and work with that? I have been messing around with placement with a 6-gear trans and battery placement gets tough, and servo mounting will be creative to say the least.

If you filp the transmission to mid motor you have to flip the top shaft to keep the motor's pinion on the same side of the car it is on a rear motor car.

However there's also the alternative options of reversing the rotation of the motor on some brushless motors/esc; running an idler between the pinion and spur; or using a Hyperdrive belt set up to move the pinion and spur to the left side of the car.

you could always switch to a hyper drive in mid motor as it runs backwards anyway.
