Outdrive question

Can the newer "gen2" outdrives 2935 be used in the xx and retrofit trannies? They look very similar except no need for the separate diff tube. Much like the xx4/xxx4/xxxs molded front outdrives... Do I need the 2903 rings if so, or can I still use the 3070s? All help is MUCH appreciated...

Unfortunely not, the GenII are much longer than the original version.

Thanks Cedric. I guess I should be happy that the 3073s and 3097s are still in good supply. I just saw that the Gen2s were $10 a set, whereas a set of 3097s are ilke $13-15, and the 3073s are $14-16. I'm always trying to save an RC buck....
