and applied it to some areas outside after masking and a bit of steel wool. I figured this would be the best bet for a runner. Hasn't chipped or scratched at all, (but it's also not on the roof though ).
I always thought that the flat black paint on the lexan bodies that I had seen were for show and not for durability. Can someone confirm non-Lexan specific paints that have been used successfully in painting lexan and attest to their reasonable durability? I always thought that non-lexan specific paint and/or or paint on the exterior of the body would be unacceptably fragile.
And re: automotive lacquer: are any of the commonly available auto supply spray paints still lacquer, or have they all become acrylics? I for one would love to use some of the more densely pigmented factory colors that I have seen in the aisles at PepBoys, for example.
pretty much all spray can paint you will find at the local automotive store is lacquer enamel, with the exception of the water cured urethane and epoxy systems (like por-15, etc)
I am hoping there is someone out there with some TPU experience that can help me out. I have thought of a couple of items that I would like to make that would have been typically made of simple black rubber. No sheen, just black rubber. I picked up...

Maybe try fuzzy skin? In Cura you can do this and it creates a textured outer wall, may give you the finish you are looking for.
What kind of flat black paint do people use for the *outside* of the body, to paint in the roll cage areas? Is there a flat black paint meant to go on the outside? Or are they just using normal paint, or even the Krylon fusion plastic paint?

I do the same thing as Terry, but use Pactra Outlaw Black on both inside & outside. The outside paint dries to a semi-matte finish. The inside paint is just for when the outside paint gets scratched or dinged, it doesn't show as much. Using Pactra...
Mr Lexan hooked me up with a sweet new Baja Bug body. I love r/c baja bugs, Sand Scorchers, Monster Beetles, RC10 Scorchers, whatever, I've always liked the classic baja bug body on an r/c car. So, I've owned quite a few over the years. I've still...

PM Mr Lexan, he'll be able to hook you up. I think he sells them on ebay too.
I am selling my vintage RC10 and someone kindly pointed me to this forum to ask a question. I just discovered that one of the rear tires is flat. Is there an easy repair to fix that, like an insert? Or a way to pump air in? Or does the tire...

No, you can buy the full racer kits like the factory team, team etc.. still that is just the buggy roller.
The RTR's are mainly for those looking for an inexpensive way to step into racing without the building, painting, buy electronics separately...
Any tips for getting flat tires to be round again? Got a big grizzly and after dismounting the tires they have permanent flat spots from sitting. I tried airing them up with conpressed air, and it works for a minute but eventually bleeds out and...

Last summer I got a set of Imex Baja tires for the Clod that were shipped in too small of a box. The seller just stuffed them in it and needless to say the became deformed. I kept kneading them back into shape while running them under as hot of...
So I was looking around at making a custom order for a screw set. I remember a while back asking about screws in another thread because they werent fitting properly. well I finally figured it out. Older sets had a 100 degree flat head vs an 80...

If it's an aluminum 8-32 screw in an rc application it's almost always 100 degree unless it's metric , then it's 90. If it is steel there is a good likelihood it's 82 degree. You won't find 100 degree in black oxide easily, sometimes in stainless....
