kyosho receiver help!!

Post by old_rc_lover »

Does any one know the difference between the 2 receivers Pulsar and Kyosho. I am getting some radio gear together for some Kyosho Wildcats and I am coming across both Kyosho and Pulsar receivers with the Pulsar Pro 2000 transmitter.

I will post pic in AM, but I mean that with the Pulsar 2000 transmitter I am getting Kyosho labeled receivers and Pulsar labeled receivers. Just was wondering why the two different labeled receivers. They look identical except the label.

Here is a pic of both receivers. I am wondering which one to use with the pulsar transmitter. I have been getting some Kyosho ones and some Pulsar ones with the Pulsar 2000 transmitters. I am trying to get 6 complete radios total.

the difference appears to be the BEC is built into the bottom one.
If you are going to build an electric with a mechanical speed controller, use the bottom one as you need the bec to reduce the 7.2v battery down to the 5-6v that the electronics need. If you are building a nitro or an electric with an esc, you can use either one as they don't need the internal bec.

Lately I have been restoring vintage RC cars. I am trying to get the correct receiver with the correct transmitter. If they both came with the Pulsar 2000 I will probably use the one with out the BEC on these since they are nitro. Thanks for the help.

Tower Hobbies catalog sold the Pulsar and heavily promoted it (along with everything Kyosho). Thus, you find a lot of Pulsars with Optimas, Ultimas, etc. I believe Pulsar/Kyosho will work together. It's like the current Tower/Tactic radios.
