TRX-1 crush tubes?

Post by The Fuhrer »

Hi Guys,

I'm wondering if anyone has tried crush tubes in the TRX-1 rear hubs.

I find the rear wheels tend to bind if done up too tight.

Ran my TRX-1 today in wet and windy conditions, great fun on astro turf
Anyway, I ran the rear hubs as the manual
one black shim on the axle, pass the axle through the bearings in the hub,
another black washer on the axle, pin through the hole and bolt on wheel
with 4mm nylock nut. No binding at all.
Are the wheels Traxxas? If they are not maybe the slot where the pin goes
is too deep allowing the wheel to pull upto the bearing :!:

Hi Ken,

Yes I am using Traxxas wheels. All the shims are per manual.

Perhaps I am just tightening the nut too much. It is interesting that most cars do use crush tubes these days.
