I bought a kyosho rocky half of the parts are in the box so I was looking around and saw a few turbo rockys it looked like the chassi and front shocks are not the same so what I want to know is can I buy a turbo rocky chassi and front shock tower...

Yes, a standard Rocky can be converted to a Turbo, or a Turbo-esque version. The gear boxes are the same. The basic differences between the Rocky and Turbo Rocky are the chassis (the Turbo has top and bottom Al plates plus posts), front and rear...
by the way, i saw a post on theoptimahouse a little while back that our friend from Kuwait has been busy. It had pics but I haven't seen them show up for sale yet in eBay or on tc. I haven't seen any posts here about it either, so why not start one?...

2.0 rims and OT-66 tyres were a good upgrade from the Optima Sand Super tyres back in my early race days. They actually worked well for me.
I saw this old Kyosho 4WD buggy with chaindrive but have no clue what this is. Someone knows this car and how old this could be?
I know the Optima and Turbo Optima as I have run them in the past but don´t know other Koysho cars very well.

Yep, Gallop Mk2. Definately!
There were many parts exclusive to the Mk2 which werent on the previous Gallop and Progress models such as-
*Firbreglass radio tray.
*Rear cage section.
*Front shock mounts.
*Bumper.
*Gold dampers on all four corners....
I have to confess that I have a strange infatuation with the Javelin. I like looking at resto builds on this forum as well as when they come up on ebay, usually for insane money it seems. I think I might like to get one, but maybe if I knew the...

Apart from the shortcomings Coelacanth mentioned, the optima series suffer from understeer if you're using fast brushless system due to their rear heavy design. the optima pro was suppose to address this issue by placing the battery a little further...
My first car was a Raider and I will keep this one forever to ensure my last car is a Raider. I just picked this up from Vintage AE. It is in amazing shape. He did an awesome job rebuilding it. I have never seen a Raider this fast before. I was...
I always get a kick out of these frankenstein cars or bodies. Here's a nice Kyosho one:
I'm trying to figure out what it is? It's an original Ultima body stuck onto another body and then put on an Optima, right? I like the wing so far behind the...
Last post
Wow, what a difference. That's a cool body and it works with the stock rollcage. It just looks so bad in the auction. How would the Pro-line body be marketed if you had to also buy a Kyosho rollcage? or did the butterfly body look ok by itself?
Has anyone ordered pargu's alloy arm set yet? I just saw them on the bay and I want to see them installed on a car...

I received something I purchased on eBay a week and a half ago that looks very promising! The seller has BIN's on a pair of arms of about $10, but had one for sale with no start bid, and I won for a buck. It looks like a cinch to install in place of...
Just saw this on Ebay. A Javelin AND a Gold Optima.
Considering I've seen Javelins go for over $300 and the gold chassis alone in the $150 range, this really isn't a bad price (bad for me but still LOL)
Just wanted to share if someone was...

HAHAHA serves me right for not reading the details as well.
Yeah, those prices are stupid high. That Javelin isn't even in the best condition out of the javelins I've seen sell on Ebay recently for a lot less money.
I have 2 Mids and now a Lazer ZX. Which has been a lot more harder to get parts for.
I have noticed that there are plenty of MIDS around but very few Lazer's .
Maybe because the 2wd boom started...

Fruit cake yes but my 511 was and still is slower than the zxr. Ive more steering than the 511 as well and also works better on carpet than the 511 plus can anyone say they have ever broke a wishbone on the zxr as you cant unlike tamiya and pretty...
Hello RC10talk forums! i've been lurking on here for the last few days reading everything i can about the first gen Kyosho Ultima that i picked up at a garagesale recently for the tidy sum of $15. here is a picture of it next to a rather rough...

Here are some Kyosho Gold shock specs so you can compare with your shock sizes.
Front expanded hole-to-hole length: ~73 mm
Rear expanded hole-to-hole length: ~97 mm
Using spacers and different ball ends, you could probably figure on a workable...
For some time I have had a want for a really nice Gallop Mk2 buggy. The box art design of this car really sparks my interest and I have been on the hunt for cars and parts for some time.
Finaly I got a break when I won an original Gallop on eBay...
Well...it's more like cleaning project. Diggley had an idea of making a buggy from left over parts, so I decided to go through my closet and see what I could come up with. I don't have much stuff I don't use, but I found some cool old school boxes,...

Man that thing is amazing. Mine looks nothing like that. I might have to sell off some of my cars and rebuild mine.
Very cool build. The Raider arr was my first rc car and I bought another one last year.
Well I'm psyched. I've been wanting a Kyosho Optima since I've gotten back into RC over the last few years. I had a bunch of cars and what not in storage but a long time ago I had sold my Kyosho Turbo Optima that I used to race so I could buy my...
Hey guys, after completely restoring my Turbo optima... its time for some upgrades , i got the belt conversion from the UK and the bumper support from Pargu2000, the alloy wheels should be on the way also. After this i will concentrate on the...
Sweet! After a year of searching, I finally found myself a Shadow! Found it on ebay last night thanks to my watch list. It looks like I was only the 6th person to see the add before I hit the BIN button. Hopefully I'll have it by next week.
This was...
I believe it's possible to widen the Optima's rear stance with longer control arms, but does anybody know if shorter control arms exist, or tried something that worked? I'm thinking of something like the front arms I used from the Spider, which work...

WTF is your problem, Paul? Have I somehow wronged you by sending you nice stuff in exchange for crap?
Since I'll be eventually upgrading to a brushless ESC & motor combination, I've been doing a lot of research on bulletproofing my T.Optima's drivetrain. Note that I'll be sticking with chain drive for now, as I can't either find or afford a belt...

Hey, thanks for the props! :)
The steering setup I used should also work on the Ultima's ladder chassis. The Lazer steering I used can be configured like a stock Ultima or arranged like I did which is similar to most modern race buggies.
hey guys
here is what i think is a 1/8 kyosho car my mate gave me

Any 230-235 mm wide 28 cm wheelbase body should fit, so Kyosho bodies for the 4WD Oval series (Optima MID-based) and Scale Series (Ultima on-road, Lazer ZX, Lazer Sport-based cars) should fit. Also, wide GP-10 bodies.
Well, my Turbo Optima Mid SE arrived today, thanks to transamman908 (smooth, painless, and entirely satisfactory transaction with excellent communication and he helped me out answering many dumb noob questions - can't recommend him enough). I've...

Ditto on the brushless setup. Modern speedos have voltage cutoffs, so it is a mute point. However, if you overdischarge a NiMh pack it will be damaged as well. And allot of brushed speedos don't have the voltage cutoff. -Jeff
The scorpion was my first rc. I picked this one up a while back for a pretty penny, around $150 with a badly melted tub and body. I bought it because it came with a truck load of gears, two graupner diffs and some spares.
So I see an ad on craigslist for 2 Vintage Kyoshos and parts . Contact the guy, it turns out to be someone I had bought a Big Brute from before. I offer him my Mtroniks brushless speed control and some cash (less than you'd guess) and come home with...

Very different to my MID. Much thanks to everyone that helped me.
This is my newly aquired Superten. I simply love this model and have been looking for one in this paint scheme for ages. Ebay is still good for a few things!

Iso,
looking good, still a lot more mods needed to make it look like mine. Maybe sometime soon youd be up for coming to the uk to race the zxr or zxs in a vintage race?
is there a suitable replacement or retrofit for the spring collars on the vintage red shocks other than zip-ties?
I picked up a used car with 3/4 collars completely broken, and the 4th well on its way out.
Thanks!

Don, thanks for the offer, but those are too big.
I will hold off on buying anything until ROH73 has the clamps made.
for now I am rocking zip-ties with fuel tubing. Not pretty but gets the job done.
I have an optima clone coming to me (let's just call it an optima for this discussion).

The Great Vigor Beagle. There's another post here in the Kyosho section.
The buggy is supposed to arrive today and I'm going to do a tear down and rebuild thread on it.
It needed 2 dogbones and a chain, which I'm getting courtesy of Marc.
I am looking for a wheel adapter that will let me use modern wheel/tire combinations with my Ultimas and Optimas. I've seen a couple of parts on eBay that claim to do this, but none look very durable. Any experiences/recommendations?
Has anyone owned both a Mid lwb and Lazer ZX?????????
I have herd that the Lazer was not much better. Than i have herd the opposite the Lazer ZX was way better.
It will still be some time away before my lemon Lazer will be finished.
Any info...

Zx and zxr are much better. Better platform and more stable and easier to drive than the mid. Also doubt the mid can handle the brushless unlike the zx and zxr. The zx slipper is better suited to the brushless system. Ive fitted a 5.5 in mine.
I got this of redscampi a while ago,in a huge box of bits.
Finally found an upper deck and after many NIP parts,it's pretty much done (apart from a wing  ).
It started like this:
