My Optima Mid from nvxwax
Just wanted to share my Optima Mid that I got from nvxwax. Did a basic teardown and rebuild. nvxwax had provided me with an extra chassis that was cleaner and purdier so I had to use that one. I cleaned and lubed up all the bearings, cleaned out the gears etc. Nvxwax provided me with a pretty good base to start with.
I threw in a sidewinder, tacon 3200kv brushless motor and a kyosho prefex servo
I'm waiting on 2.0" losi step pins to arrive to put on the original NEW optima mid rims he sent me and some proline hole shots to put on the yellow lazer rims he also gave me. But I might stay with a set of white rims with hole shots (don't remember which car they're from) but the interesting part is the offset is different and gives the mid a wider track.
Here's how she sits right now

Nice car.
What are your plans for it? It looks like you might be racing it.

Looking good, Scott! Let me know how it runs with that 3200 kV motor. I'm considering going with something in that neighborhood with my upcoming third Turbo Optima.

Yes, I'm going to be running it. There are some good vintage races at a track here in Connecticut that I really want to go to with this and my JRX2.
I'll let you know Marc about the motor. I figure 3200KV should be safe on 2S for this drive train. I know a lot of people who've run brushless in the Mid before.

That is sweet. I reckon the Optima Mids are some of the best looking buggies. They just seem to sit 'right'.

Took it to the park today just to do a little baseball diamond running.
Ran like a champ. I love the power curve on those tacon motors, those are a steal for their performance.
Also that extra approx half inch in width is noticable. The mid handled like a dream.

I honestly don't know. I'll try to find out. They had a different offset.
