Re: How to best maintain lipo's in 2013.
I'm leary to charge a lipo at 1c in NiMh mode. Technically it probably wont hurt the battery as it's still a linear charge, but I've always found a minute or two @.5A does the trick. It has worked well to revive batteries run down to 1.47v cell. For batteries severely out of balance you can also mak...

Re: I'm building a gold pan RC10 runner - WOIO
Thanks all, the more I look at it the more I like the small wing. I just got the wheel wing nuts in the mail yesterday as they are still available. The 3 pointed ones aren't as far as I'm aware. The small wings were on backorder. I don't expect it to be fast enough as it only has a Reedy Competition...

Re: I'm building a gold pan RC10 runner - WOIO
Which wing, big or small? I can't decide which wing to run as one seems too small and the other too large. I'm leaning toward small as it's more "original", and that's what this car is about. Nearly finished though, all electronics have been mounted. Just waiting on the transmitter to arri...

Re: out of room
I was thinking of building a pigeon hole cupboard to fit all my cars but my wife had a better idea to display all our stuff. We are going to line the side of the garage with glass cabinets to display everything.
I liked the pigeon hole idea but as soon as you get one car that doesn't fit it sucks..

Re: Old hobby shop stock
Didn't Rons wife run the register ? I grew up going to Sheldons as it was halfway between our house and my dads. Working there would have been cool but inside sources told me he was a hard man to work for. Good thing I didn't have a lot of money back then. Speaking of old shops anyone remember...

Re: Anyone tried this? Yellowed parts white
I'll have to check my buggy that I did a couple of weeks ago, the one with the cracked rear bulkhead battery housing, which I bought a replacement from you :D I'm not a fan of the whole ice water thing, firstly it shocks the parts and I worry about more damage being done that way from rapid contract...

Re: Acer ceramic bearings
I tried the Acer ceramics and was a bit skeptical at first. The difference between them and normal cheap bearings quite surprised me, to the point where I'd try them again.
If your just bashing I wouldn't bother with them, but for racing I'd say they are worth it.

Re: 1/10 4wd buggy, who runs'em?
Pretty funny giving an offroad guy a set up board  Gongrats though on the achivement, that track looks fantastic!! I raced the original B44 and it was pretty dialed out of the box. I liked the fact you could drive it fast but then take it to mental mode when need be, and it just got faster. I w...

Re: snap ring pliers
Just buy some spring wire that fits the hole well, bend it in a long 1 1/2" "U" shape with the legs about the same width apart as the holes. Then bend the last 1/4" of the "U's" legs down so it looks like an "L" from the side. Hard to explain but this allows y...

Re: Question for motor collectors (hoarders)... :)
Sheldons display was a work of art really, not much different to your own really. The cabinets were full of every reedy motor in every wind including other brands. Every Novak ESC, batteries etc. Kits were stacked 10+ high on shelves and a couple pallets of cars on the floor. It was RC heaven. Surel...

Re: Question for motor collectors (hoarders)... :)
It's a bit different when you own a big hobby shop. It would be much harder for the average Joe to accumulate such a vast amount of stuff. I can only imagine how much vintage and cool rare stuff Sheldons Hobbies had before they closed down. What some people see as dead stock others see as collectable.

Are RAM lights no longer available? I think they'd be awesome with some high power LED's, but I dig the "bulb" factor.
I'd love to see that buggy with knobbly tires, the waffles aren't offroad enough![Laughing ](./images/smilies/icon_lol.gif)

More cars will solve the problem, one car for each motor, they are quite safe that way ![Mr. Green ](./images/smilies/icon_mrgreen.gif)

Re: Best steering servos and radio options for vintage RC10.
Anything around .10 - .13 and around 150 oz/in. is a pretty good servo, not too fast, not too slow and reasonable torque for most cars (monster trucks aside). Most servos that are high speed lack slightly in the torque department and high torque servos tend to lack speed, it's a trade off (unless yo...
