Re: Can someone help me identify this buggy?
Update: After some fun with this old buggy I broke one of the ujoints coming out of the gearbox. That doesn't surprise me too much, that old stuff gets pretty brittle. But no need to worry, I have several brand new sets of output yokes for that transmission. You will have to dis-assemble the transm...

Re: Can someone help me identify this buggy?
Since 2005 I've gone thru one Rad , three Bullets, a Sledgehammer, at least six Hawks, five Hawk2s, one Rad2 and a Blue Eagle LS-2 conversion, so I have a fair bit of experience in this area. Twelve years hanging out in the TRX vintage electric forum doesn't hurt either.

Re: Can someone help me identify this buggy?
My guess leans more to an original Radicator, with the carbon chassis conversion. The Rad used the same steering set up as the old Hawk and the newer Hawk2/Rad2. The original Rad rims were cast in pink. While the Bullet rims were natural[white] nylon and painted silver. The Rad and the Bullet did sh...

Re: traxxas history?
I've got to agree on the bashing of other folks choice of RCs,why bother? My favorite part of this hobby is the extended family feel that I get from most everyone. Kind of a Global Brotherhood, which is very cool to me. I don't care what brand of RC everyone likes or dislikes. I come to sites like th...

Re: traxxas history?
If thats how you feel about Traxxas, I don't think the two of you are going to like it here much. :P  Dude, look at my user name,I'm a Mopar fan in a GM dominated world. I could care less what other people think about my choices in life,Real autos or RCs. I'm an adult, not some kid that gets hi...

Re: traxxas history?
Not a whole lot of info here, but it's worth posting --- http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Traxxas As for Traxxas killing the hobby, give me a break. If you honestly think that, you need to crawl out from under your elitist rock and take a look around. If you think everyone that is coming into RC want's...

Re: Traxxas Triple Track Threat!!
That is a very nice collection. They all look like they were never ever driven. I have a Hawk, two Bullets,a Hawk2 and I just got a Blue Eagle roller a couple of weeks ago. The RTR thing never bothered me,I tear them right down and start from a pile of loose parts. When I'm done,I know every nut bolt...

Re: Optima questions
Awesome! I'm impressed by the fact you have stuck with the project for such a long time. I've been collecting parts and picking away at my car for almost 23 years myself. A rusty, aquamarine colored '68 Dart 2 door Coupe. I drove mine home for $50.00. But it was a Real mess, broken engine K-Member,et...

Re: Optima questions
Wow,What can I say that a dozen people haven't said already? That is amazing!!!!! And the body, you gotta know that a guy with my nickname would love that! I plan on installing the same body on my on-road conversion LazerZX-r project. Now I've got to ask, are you a fellow Mopar fan or just the liking...

Re: stain removal from nylon
A friend from another website, uses peroxide[hair bleach] to clean his parts. He soaks them in a big Rubbermaid tub sitting in the sun for a couple of days. And so far it seems to work very well. All of his vintage RCs that I have seen look brand spankin' new. yes marv we have been on too the perox...

Re: need to vent
I've got to be fair and say that my pile of Savage parts[lol] is the only HPI product that I have tried. But if this pile of junk is any example of the quality of HPI's stuff, I ain't buying any more of it. I've seen a couple of wicked E-Savages with brush-less systems. And they were crazy fast,no d...

Re: Optima questions
Thank you for the additional input guys,I really appreciate it! GJW, that's why I picked up my Lazer,I figured it would be a nice companion piece for my Optima. Old tech/newer tech. After I saw video of the Lazer running with the 12 t double and a lipo pack, I was hooked but good, lol. What surprises...
