new built yokomo mx4 UPDATED PICS 23/2/12
Thought Id share some pics of one of my recent projects. Bought this car from a good friend on here, and replaced pretty much 90% of it with new parts. Most of the bits came from end of the line rc, chassis cost me a small fortune from a fellow member but it was worth it. Iceing on the cake is a nip shell tray and wing (also from a guy on here) thanks to everyone that helped, shell will be getting sprayed to match one of the vintage shells I saw on here
UPDATED 23/2/12 WITH CUSTOM SPARYED CRAIG DRESCHER SHELL Masked by me sprayed by a professional!!!!
enjoy

Re: new built yokomo mx4
The MX4 looks lovely I stopped racing off road in 2000 ish so these MX-4s were still pretty current, I can't ever remember them being particularly common or even competitive back then... most people racing in 4wd had either CATs or Losi XX4 - I guess they were more expensive to buy & spares harder to come by?
Its funny, 1998 doesn't seem that long ago - but I suppose all things are relative & it depends upon how old you are.... Its rather telling that the XX4 ended up being re-released by Losi & remained competitve - R/C (off road) chassis technology hasn't moved on particularly in the last 15-20 years - especially when you compare it to the previous 10 when you went from cars like the Tamiya Frog in the early 80s culmulating in the realease of cars like the Bosscat & Losi XX in the early 90s.... both these cars still look pretty current & can certainly in the right hands turn in some comparable lap times to a modern car.
This MX-4 still looks really fresh design-wise - & I think represents the pinicle of Yokomo's quality... they are almost jewel-like
