Price of the CAT XLS was $309. Just did a quick search and hot damn folks have them for sale at ridiculous prices. I picked one up at the local HobbyTown when they were still available for $309.

If it's discontinued you have to treat looking for it like an original, with potentially more of them around. If you must have it now and have deep pockets there's plenty of options for big money from people who are looking to flip nib kits....

The integrator is what makes this car unique. It is the perfect example of overengineering and the car is easier to setup and run without.
But this setup is part of its british charm.

Sure enough, you are correct Peter. The re-released XLS actually uses the same width steering rack as the original SWB car. Do you reckon they did that for ackermann; effectively providing a bit more aggressive steering for the longer wheelbase car?...
Just built a masami edition (2nd one) added pro transmission and can’t get it to run freely,

It will probably be solved by now, but check the clearance in the front housing and surrounding parts. The front pulley rubs on the lexan undertray.
