Done!!!!!! Updated pics
After about 6 months I am 95% done with my RC project. I started this to possibly take it to the Vintage Nationals this year, but I may just use it at the track as a runner.
Most is original from a friend who gave me a ton of stuff.
It originally started at as Graphite but realized I like the gold tub look.
It has a Stealth Tranny with and RPM case and gear cover, updated slipper, 2.2 conversion on the rear (maybe an MIP cvd update later), LRP ESC, LRP 17.5, cheap HK RX, and a Spektrum 6040 servo.
I tried my hardest not to drill any holes or molest this chassis. The other one I have has a ton of holes drilled into it. I'm going to update that one and be a basher.
Finally done. It is ready for the track. Pulled the Worlds battery strap for it so it all matches.
Body is a custom lime green mix and a pearl gold I believe. My buddy, zuki250 on here, did the body work. It was one of his first jobs so he got to pick the scheme, I picked the colors.

Re: Finally....well amost.
you should really be running the deeper offset rear wheels with the stock rear suspension.

Thanks, I'm almost happy with it....haha
Yeah the wheels were a screw up.
I bought them on eBay brand new for $8 shipped for all four. Then I realized they weren't correct.
Any idea what's going on with the rear arm?

Re: Finally....well amost.
you may have an uneven number of limiters inside the shocks. you may not have the rod end fully tightened on the shaft which is making the left arm lower. hard to tell. pull them back off and go over them, making sure they're the same length before you put them back on.

Re: Finally....well amost.
If the stops are still on the arms you could round them off. One side may be worn more than the other and allowing it to drop lower
Re: Finally....well amost.
It's the caster block. When it's screwed down it, the arm lifts. The screws look to be going in at a slight angle. When the screws are loosen and I sit the caster flush, it's perfect.
I wonder if the holes are a little off. I am sure that the forward hole is because I can get it to sit right with the rear one in.
I'll just buy new casters and be done.
Edit: arm mounts

Re: Finally....well amost.
I was going to suggest the turnbuckles might be lifting it a bit too

I thought that but it's definitely the mount. It sits perfect till it's tightened down. I do need to play with the turnbuckles but I'm pretty sure the mount is cross threaded to an extent.

Re: Finally....well amost.
Arm mounts shouldn't cause the problem, but as they are tightened they look like the problem. Check out the post Scr8p made about the arms. They came with a ledge that stopped the down travel, but as they wear they don't wear evenly. Best is to trim the whole ledge area off and set the down travel with internal shock limiters.
The ledge is at the front edge of the arm, where the hinge pin goes thru

Re: Finally....well amost.
It was the mount. It would go down if you moved if that way it moved freely it just went back to that position. These were such a hodgepodge of nut, bolts, an screws that i think he had crossed it so it say crooked or whatever.
I found a couple extra so I slapped it on. This one did have the ledge so I cut it down and sanded. It's perfect now.
Now that it's done I need to redo the shocks and get some stiffer springs. It dips with no return.

Re: Finally....well amost.
Thanks for the recommendation. They fit perfect. I'm going to stock up on a couple pairs just to have. Body is coming in and I'm letting my friend practice his airbrushing with it. We will see what he comes up with.scr8p wrote:you should really be running the deeper offset rear wheels with the stock rear suspension.

Re: Finally....well amost.
Get some GT wide front axles and a pair of B3 rear wheels and you're all set!
As an aside, for running on clay, I like the gold Barcodes on the rear, but up front, I've found Proline wide wheels with 4WD Scrubs MC tires to be an excellent combo. Not a fan of Barcodes on the front of buggies.

I'll look into those.
I got the green for now because we run on an indoor track and with my other buggy I used this combo and it seemed to work out well.
I have a Worlds that my buddy who's painting the body said I can have too so I'll be looking to update those tires too.

What is the composition of your indoor? Green is more of a blue groove compound, a touch harder than gold. I imagine they do decent, though.
If you go with Proline Scrubs, definitely get MC compound. Their MX (blue groove) compound is a little hard for clay.
