Project StealthMode...Minus The STEALTH
I've finally finished the project that started my AE obsession. And thanks to Mr. Lexan, I found the perfect wheels & foams to finish it off.
It's such a simple design, but it took me forever to get it perfect. Please let me know what you think.
List of parts I used:
- TrackMaster graphite chassis
- TrackMaster graphite X Caliber direct-drive tranny
- McAllister lowering kit
- McAllister rear oval body mount
- MIP 1/4" CVD's
- AE shorty front arms
- RPM rear arms
- RPM rod ends
- RPM spring cups
- RRP titanium ball studs
- Pure-Tech hinge pin snap rings
- AE .56 gold shocks & soft springs
- Avid wheel bearings
- Mini Tech mesh wheels & foams
- Protoform Vortex L.D. Oval Wedge body

when using a chassis with no kickup, you need to use the left castor block on the right, right on the left.

That is sooooo sweet of a ride. I cant believe my eyes I had a couple of the front shock struts and cut them up. what a dummy I am. I also have a couple composit rear wings cut to fit if ya want one. its called a Twinn-K airfoil. LMK Johnny

I know, silly.
But, you also have to dremel the carriers. I don't feel like cookin' up a pot of dye just for two little parts. Maybe someday...
I just need to find some Cheetah castor wedges and call it a day.

I would start with 20* blocks flipped left to right, that will give you 5* of caster, depending on how much steering you want you might have to use a dremel on the caster block to clear the sterring knuckle at full lock.

or, you could just buy new black castor blocks. no dye needed, and no waiting god knows how long for cheetah castor wedges to come along.LTO_Dave wrote:scr8p wrote:when using a chassis with no kickup, you need to use the left castor block on the right, right on the left.

Re: Project StealthMode...Minus The STEALTH
I just got back from trying to reverse the castor blocks, but didn't have any luck.
Maybe it's a combination of the parts I'm using (short arms, inline spindles & possibly 30-degree blocks), but it's physically impossible to switch the blocks because the spindles hit the A-arms. Maybe a different degree block would solve the problem, but all mine are the same degree. I could possibly remove a portion of each arm, but I'll just annoy everyone with my wicked camber.
