the good things are he is a collector, and has skills, axes and business partners to making alloy parts.Dr. Robotnik wrote:BTW don't get offended but can I just ask, are you making these just for yourself? Or are you making them for others? If you say others do you know how many people will buy them?
As has been mentioned this is going to be very expensive. Please think about it carefully and don't agree to produce 100 wheels without buyers as they just won't sell.
Good luck.
so, I only have to gather good ideas when I need a couple of sets custom parts.
on this project, the prime cost would be $70 to $80 for a set (for 10 rc10) when he makes 30 to 20 sets.
thanks

This is the matching set of front wheel bearing collars. The front wheels hold 5x11 bearings, and the collars allow for smaller metric or imperial bearings to be used.

Tower's search is a piece of crap. I've been looking for those off and on for a while now. (the front spacers) Thanks Anthony!
Does the google search work in the tower site?

Are you saying if i buy this hpi adapter for the rear and these: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCEA1&P=M I can mount 2.2 Proline tires on them such as holeshots or bowties??? I've been using the 6805 rims for my old RC10s 1/4" axles but they are hard to find...
Will this work? If so I'll order them from tower right away!!! Thanks...Fronts are ok for me I use the regular B4 fronts.

I don't know what size tires those wheels take or if they use the adapters as I have never looked into buggy size tires, I would guess that the adapters do not fit the wheels linked above as the center hole appears too small to fit the adapters. They make truck size wheels too, in a variety of styles, that actually include the adapter set. notice the diameter of the axle hole on these: http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXM875&P=7

i've never seen those hpi adapter come with any buggy rim..... the rears, anyway. hpi buggy rear rims were direct fit because of the different backspacing that was needed. rc10 and kyosho are close, but not losi. only the truck rear rims were universal.Mr. ED wrote:just a thought: why don't you use the trick hpi pulled on their star wheels: one design fits-all wheels ( with help of the hpi adapter set, which is still for sale)

You will need the adapters for the wheels to bolt to the RC10, but yes, they will work. Correct me if I'm wrong, but the older HPI 5 stars were a 2.15" wheel. I don't know if these are 2.15 or 2.2". You can still mount the 2.2" tires to them, you just need to be a little more deliberate with the gluing!
Let me know when you find a set of matching fronts!

Re: making alloy rims - 2.2" F/R 3-piece jelly bean
I just bought a set of HPI truck wheels that include the rear adapter set.
I would say you can use these adapters to fit any kyosho, HPI, hotbodies or tamiya wheel with 12 mm hex on your rc10.
The only thing you need to do is remove the cilindrical part on the front of the hex.

Re: making alloy rims - 2.2" F/R 3-piece jelly bean
i'm not saying you can't use the adapters to mount rims to an rc10, losi, kyosho, etc. what i AM saying is that the backspacing of say a jrx2 rear rim compared to an rc10/kyosho is a lot different. more than you'll make up using those adapters. so, if he was to make these aluminum rims with a 12mm hex instead of a crosspin to be able to use them on a wider variety of cars, depending on where the hub was, they might not fit any of the cars correctly (stock track width).
did you ever mount a set of those hpi ss mt wheels on an rc10 with a wide track front end using the supplied rc10 adapters front and rear? the rear is over an inch narrower. i'd hate to spend $100 on a set of universal fit aluminum rims and have my car look like that.
