Traxxas Jato new 1/8 buggy
Ok so I have seen the online stuff about the new 1/8 Traxxas Jato buggy. I understand its not what it was and such but it looks pretty cool. Apparently the 2s version is available now and the 3/4s version will be available after the new year.
What’s everyone thinking about it?

I’m sure it is going to be a fun buggy, and will feature Traxxas’ usual robustness. At first glance it looks like built on the Rustler 4x4 platform- I could be wrong though.
Unfortunately it is NOT a buggy based on the nitro Jato truck. That is in my eyes the Traxxas platform that is not to be.

It looks alot like a Backslash to me. Correct me if I’m wrong though.Chewbacca wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 5:27 pm I’m sure it is going to be a fun buggy, and will feature Traxxas’ usual robustness. At first glance it looks like built on the Rustler 4x4 platform- I could be wrong though.

You are correct. I believe they used the name Jato since they already have that name trademarked. I doubt they want to go through the whole Mudboss drama again. Now why they decided to take a 4x4 electric Slash converted to a 1/8 buggy and decided that calling it a Jato was a good idea is beyond me. They are getting hammered in comments over it on social media.Brendan2904 wrote: ↑Sat Nov 02, 2024 11:54 pmIt looks alot like a Backslash to me. I agree that they should have taken the time to name it something else. I’m hoping to head to my hobby shop next week and check out the 2s version. I’m really liking the team corally syncro though.

They used the same logic as Ford did with the Mach E.
I refuse to call that abomination a Mustang.
