Rear Hubs

I have the old classic rear hubs. I went to the track and broke one side of them. I pulled the ball stud out. So are there any options for modernizing? I looked up some information on the site, but all the links are old. All the items to update them are discontinued. Is there a new set of parts for modernizing the rear hubs and dog bones?

So do I need new spindles and dog bones or do the original fit in there? I am ok with getting the new stuff just need to know what will fit. Thanks very mucn.

The originals fit. You just need the correct bearings.

Getting new hubs is a good idea, but you may be able to salvage the hub you have. If the only problem was the ball stud ripping out. The hole can filled with epoxy. When the epoxy is cured drill a new hole and use washers on both side of the stud then use a nylon locking nut on the end. The washers and the nylon nut should take most of the force.

Ok I can try that, do you have a suggestion on epoxy? I also was looking to upgrade the links and change out the ball end with something different.

JB weld is usually recommended here. I have been using the jb weld epoxy putty to fill holes in my rc things.

I'm a fan of the ball and cup ends the car came with. RPM makes a set of replacement rod ends that can work for most of the car.

They are too bulky to use in the front. But in the rear, they are tough as nails.

WOW thanks very much guys. I have to be honest I have always HATED the ball cups ever since I built this when I was 13 years old!!! This is an original RC10 classic. The only thing different in the back end is I have some RPM a arms.

I will review all this and see which direction I want to go!!!

There were quite a number of rc10's that could have been from. Associated issued a kit at one point that used those hubs and axles for converting an older rc10 to 3/16" axles. I have one of those sets.

It was also used in the rc10DS, GT and some models of the rc10t. The hubs were used on the re-release version of the rc10. The 3/16 dogbone stub axles were used on the rc10t2&3 sport and some models of the rc10 (b/t) 4(.0)
