Boats - question about brushless power

Post by proffesso »

well this isnt your usual topic here, but can anyone recommend a small brushless setup for a 16" tunnel/hydro? I have no idea when it comes to brushless, so motor / speed control (amps?) / battery are all unknown to me. in the oldschool days, a 380 brushed would probably just do the trick, but 540 is certainly just physically way too big.

thoughts?

Hi,

I have a NQD Tear Into, Jet Boat that is 16 inches long, that I put together.

I bought a $10 380 size brushless motor from China and a $10 Brushless Speed control, again from China.

and a 3 cell 11.1 volt 2200 LiPo.

I had to get a LiPo alarm as the cheap speed control did not have a cut off.

I can't be any happier!

This boat is extremely fast!

Lots of fun!

Neither are water proof but the boat is well sealed, I will upgrade to waterproof stuff in the future if needed.

Here is some YouTube videos of some jet boats like mine to give you some idea.

Cheers, Dave. :)
