Carbon Fibre poll! What's the best looking weave pattern?
Everyone's got an opinion right? Well I want yours...
So what's the best looking carbon fibre weave?
Twill Weave style
Plain Weave style
2x2 Twill Weave style
I am a fan of the 2x2 Twill weave style myself...
cheers
Ed

Yes, I agree, however if that was not available...

Plain weave looks less toylike imo. I'd have to side with eau rouge on the plain no-weave though. Those twill weaves just scream "chinese helicopter bling".
I voted for plain weave.

From the three, I'd pick 2x2 Twill weave. The reason chinese toy makers copy it is because it looks the coolest

Re: Carbon Fibre poll! What's the best looking weave pattern?
I picked plain weave, not really for the looks, but for one stupid simple reason:
it saves me time to make symmetric holes and cuts for new parts.
I do hate when it is not perfectly aligned with the center line of a chassis or other part for the same reason
ed, that animation is just too cool and funny. Where did you find time to make it: Get back to your thesis and stop posting all that yummie stuff for a little.
( the sooneer you finish the thesis the sooner we can see you inreal action)

For mid 90's restorations in a UK style - it HAS to be original Twill.. I get my Fibre Lyte stuff done in Twill CSC for authenticity.

Deffo the plain type. I am not a huge fan of the 'Fibre Lyte' look I am afraid ...

Re: Carbon Fibre poll! What's the best looking weave pattern?
I voted Original Twill Weave for the reason that I use it exclusively (via Fibre-Lyte) when I am getting custom parts reproduced. For me I like how it reflects off light and I like to use it to differentiate between custom built cars and original factory cars.
I also don't mind the old school DA Graphite 'Iridium-Finish' graphite.
