What did I just Buy- Help Identify Please.

Post by hudson hornet ! »

I just got this buggy today from an old hobby shop owner. Could you guys help me identify the car and parts. Also I believe the esc is a Robart. Is that the company that makes retracts for planes? I did know enough to look for a stamp in the back. It says A.

Did I make a good buy today? Kind of an impulse thing.

Looks like a pretty clean 6 gear RC10 other than the holes drilled for the nerf bars. Looks to have some sort of replacement rear shock tower. Either dyed or replacement battery cups, maybe dubro rod ends. And some good spare parts. Judging by the chassis color and it has sway bars. I would think early Cadillac car? I am sure the other guys will chime in. Nice new Hot Trick parts too!

Biggest question is how much was it?

Aluminum nerf bars and rear bumper are Pro-track. Front bumper is Pro-Line or CRP. CF towers are Parma. Bellcranks are RCPS/Losi. Dog bones with the white ends are aluminum and made by Race Prep.

Forget who made the aluminum trans bearing cap.

Thanks guys for the help. I paid $ 100 today for all of it and I really don't know what to do with it at all. Maybe sell or trade the accesories ( don't know if anyone would even want them) or sell/ trade the whole thing. I just did not want to see this thing get forgotten again for another 20 years.

Is there anything on here that is rare or desireable or is it mostly junk?

Now you're bordering on asking "what is it worth" and that's a no no. ;)

I'll tell you what they are but you can determine for yourself whether or not they're junk parts.

Fair enough.

I am finding out that there is so much to learn about vintage r/c. I thought I knew alot but then I come across something like this that I have never seen parts like this before.

I will do some research!
