What did I buy (RC10L)
Bid on this expecting it to go way higher than what my max was. Ended up staying relatively low I think. I just don't know much about on road or a lot of the vintage stuff so I don't know if I got anything good or not. I thought it was a deal just because of all the extra bodies it came with. Let me know what you guys think.

Re: What did I buy (RC10L)
Hard to tell exactly but from the looks of the picture I got 1 ram, 1 lumina, 3 thunderbirds, 2 unknown.
If I had multiples of the lumina I would definitly hook you up I'm just thinking old school mellow yellow like on days of thunder. Gotta do the research first but that's what I'm shooting for with that body.
The chassis I'll just clean up and take out for fun on some nice parking lots or something. Just didn't know if it was anything I should be excited about owning or is too nice to worry about tearing up.

Re: What did I buy (RC10L)
Package arrived today. Ended up with a couple more goodies than expected. Here's the pictures. I definitely got a deal on this one.
The car. I dont know much about what I'm looking at so I cant tell you the details other than the motor is etched in describing it as a 13 turn double.

This was one of the extras. Appears to be a tecnacraft 7" airfoil spoiler kit. No idea if it is designed for on road or off road. It was just in the box. The package is opened but everything appears to be there.

Now onto the bodies. It was describes as coming with 7. Well 8 showed up.

The next two have bags but were opened. The Andy's body doesn't have a placard thing but has a marking on the rear. Did some research and found a picture on here of the same body. Picture of the painted car is member rooster's car

Very pleased with my purchase

Nice score! One of those Tecna wings that was used and abused recently sold on ebay for about what you paid for everything you got.
What's the brace for going from the front hub to the front brace?

Re: What did I buy (RC10L)
So after what Dave said about the airfoil. I did some researching and it turns out they are really rare. Now I don't know if I should use it on a car I already have or repair the package and keep it in the package forever. Is it frowned upon and considered non original to make a new bag or should I just keep all the original stuff in a large ziplock in the ripped original bag.

My personal opinion is you got a great deal on this stuff, you didn't know the wing was rare before, and you should do what you like. If you think it would look killer on something you own, go for it!romulus22 wrote:So after what Dave said about the airfoil. I did some researching and it turns out they are really rare. I would rather enjoy something that I think is neat NOW, than hold onto it for 20+ years and then have my kids throw it away while cleaning out my estate.

The preceding contained opinions, beliefs and thoughts that all may not agree with. No offense was intended at any point. Carry on.

True. And trust me as soon as my kids are old enough to understand money they will know my hobbies are to be sold not thrown away.
I'm still new to all this vintage stuff so yeah I had no clue it was rare. I got really lucky getting it considering it wasn't even listed in the auction.

I think it´s the servo saver.romulus22 wrote:That brace appears to be a damper tube. No idea how it works internally but it does allow steering.
Is the servo horn a spring type or just straight bolt on?

+1 on the Dampner Tube - it is there to smooth out the steering so that it is not so susceptible to being twitchy. Like if there were a few imperfections or pebbles / gravel on the track.DennisM wrote:I think it´s the servo saver.romulus22 wrote:That brace appears to be a damper tube. Re: What did I buy (RC10L)
i've personally never saw the attraction for the aero foil wing. i'd throw it on ebay for $1.00, let it ride, and it would probably pay for that whole lot......... maybe. i don't remember what you paid for it.

Re: What did I buy (RC10L)
I've got a few Tecnacraft wings but not sure if I'll ever use them. They came in 5", 7" and 9" lengths of which I have examples. I thought they were really rare at one time but for some reason after I found my first one at my lhs they just started to pop out of the woodwork. Might consider using the 9" on one of my 1/8 cars.
