Removing paint from a Scorpion tub?

Post by scootmike »

Scorpion is in great shape except for the tub being painted.
Anybody ever remove paint from one without damaging it?
Here's a pic, I know we all like to see pics!

I've used brake fluid on Scorpion and Assault wheels with no problems so I'd assume it'd be safe on the tub too.

Soda blasting is your best bet. It will come up like new.

You can take it to a place for blasting or do it diy style..... warning.... it makes a big mess and gets everywhere.

I think the wheels are more of a nylon?
Will look into soda blasting, tried blasting years ago on an old Brat body, using glass beads, and too high of a pressure, didn't work out to well

Given that the tub and wheels are both molded parts, it's pretty likely they're made from the same stuff.

I´ve just cleaned one in brake fluid with a nice result.
