GoMachV's workbench- RC10's of a different color

Post by GoMachV »

I have adjusted this thread to be a place to post some of my oddball anno jobs.

If anyone saw my Maxxum project you have seen this color before. I wondered how it would look on a 10. I am waiting for the chassis to come back as there were some blemishes I had to take care of, but here is the rest. The towers are G10 copies of trinitys, with the "touch of class" built in. I countersunk the tower screws just to be different. The trans brace was copied from a plastic piece, and countersunk as well. The nose is hot trick of course, but that nasty red is gone 8). It will probably see more upgrades as I go but for now it's more about the color

And no fair picking on the later model rear bulkhead. It's temporary-ish

ok, i'll leave the bulkhead alone. but you didn't say anything about not being able to make fun of the short arms with inline axles and knuckles.

Such an ugly color...

I can't wait for my anodized parts of the same color to get here.

Yeah, I sent it in for strip and anno but there was residue of stickers on the chassis and it didn't allow the anno to be removed. Thus there were a couple splotches of gold. I have had it re-stripped and cleaned up the adhesive, and now it's being re-anno'd. Also doing a truck in the same color.

Was it anodised black but with only one thin coat? It reminds me of faded black marker pen. Cool

Nope, it's actually a brown anno, the place I use has a customer that does a lot of brown. Looks more bronze in person

Here is the black batch I did a few weeks ago

I really like that color. Looks great against the white nylon and fiberglass.

Cool, hard to see since it is so dark but I am always a fan of different/unusual anodizing colors. I had to use a different anno guy recently to get the yellow and orange I wanted. I posted these pics in another thread:

I've got a wide front end car with short arms and inline axles. That's how I raced it back in the day. I'm not a very big fan of trailing steering.
