Forum Newbie, what's old is new wannabie

Hi All,

Been reading this forum for a while now and finally decided it was time to join.

I got hooked into the RC10 "what's old is new" cars by Caine (RC10talk member) who races at my local club, Caldicot R/C Racers in the UK, and I have been trying to surpress the urge to build one ever since.

I have raced for over 30 years so I have seen and owned many RC10 variants from the old 6 gear gold tub through to a full RPM Worlds car in the early 90's and all the models since B2, B3, B4, B4.1 and now C4.1 Centro.

Well I can't hold back any longer.

I am really love the old skool looks of the RC10 but really want something that handles more like a modern buggy so I have begun my search for parts.

Any tips for good places to search, other than ebay, would be greatfully received

What's wrong with eBay? Lots of good builds here if you troll around a bit- I can think of these in particular

If it's track performance you're after, I think you'll find a few experienced members who'll tell you that "stock", widetrack-ed, 6gear-ed, teflon-shocked RC10's tend to perform better than any "WOIN" car... the reason is that the A-team has spent hundreds of hour perfecting the car as a whole like it was over 10yrs, and if suddenly you change all the suspension geometry you basically go completely out of the tuning window...

Again, for pure performance I'd just stick to a modern car (mid motor, c4.1 for instance on astro!), and if I really wanted to run vintage, a good "stock" Team or Worlds car with 2.2 wheels/tires (JC wheels makes some that fit right on the 1/4 axle) for obvious reasons!
