ultima with some aftermarket parts
ultima with some aftermarket parts
I came across this local chain driven gearbox , that i thought was for the rc10 when i purchased it, but when i took it home to fit to a chassis , the bolts holes didn't line up. I quickly realized its for a ultima based buggy, lucky i came across this graphite chassis w/ ball bearing steering then hooked up some long fiberglass shock towers and period type shocks, rear sway bar washed and rebuilt the buggy and so far, all i need is wheels and a body if anybody knows has a body that they are willing to part with that would be great. Here's some pictures..

Re: ultima with some aftermarket parts
Just saw this post. I am currently thinking about building an vintage Ultima to race here in California. I saw your tranny querry, and I believe it is actually a Team Pit Stop tranny. They were from Florida if memory serves. I was sponsored by them in the early 90'S and it looks familiar
. Anyways, nice rig, good luck-Jeff

Re: ultima with some aftermarket parts
This is actually a old thread that was some how brought back. I have changed out the shocks since then and put this body on it. Updated with this pictures.

Still looks un-run, you're not planning to take it to the track?
Your paintscheme is pretty cool!
Will you do a wing with the same colours?

Re: ultima with some aftermarket parts
Lovely.
ultima works best with andys racing front arm´s and original short in the back.
When i used to run the ultima i had the pro2/xl chassi and the batteries in saddle but turned 90 degrees.
We had a lot of ultimas in the club and we all ran the batteris saddle but turned 90 degrees.
I saw it in a mag and tested it and it worked very well.
good luck racing.
